About Trébeurden

Trébeurden is where the Côte de Granit Rose begins to show off. The village sits between two fine beaches — Tresmeur, the big sandy crescent below the centre, and Pors Termen just around the headland — with the great pink boulders of Le Castel rising between them. Walk up onto the Castel at any state of the tide and the view opens across the bay to the islands.

Île Milliau lies a few hundred metres offshore and can be walked to at low tide across the sand, which is the kind of thing children remember for the rest of their lives. The marina in the harbour holds several hundred boats, and the GR34 coastal path runs north from here towards Ploumanac'h and Perros-Guirec, through some of the most photographed rock formations in France.

The village has a proper year-round centre: bakeries, a supermarket, restaurants, a pharmacy, a school and a market. It is a resort in summer, but it does not empty out afterwards.

Lannion is around ten minutes inland, with supermarkets, a hospital, a railway station and an airport. Perros-Guirec is fifteen minutes up the coast, Tréguier around half an hour, and Saint-Brieuc with its TGV service to Paris about an hour and a quarter.
