Nine hundred and thirty-four square metres, serviced, two hundred metres from the beach and from the lagoon, at Sables-d'Or-les-Pins. This is the largest plot in our Côtes-d'Armor selection and it sits in one of the most distinctive resorts in Brittany. With a brand new three-bedroom bungalow on it, the price is €507,000 all in.

The house is our three-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage: 85 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with three bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC, a utility room and the garage built in. The layout can be adapted to your wishes, and on a plot of this size there is ample room for a pool and for the house to be placed for the best of the sun.

About Fréhel and Sables-d'Or-les-Pins

Sables-d'Or-les-Pins is unlike anywhere else on this coast. It was laid out from nothing in the 1920s as a grand seaside resort — wide avenues, a central esplanade, villas set among planted pines — and although the crash of 1929 stopped the plan half-finished, what was built has a scale and a calm that no organically grown village has. Behind the dunes there is a lagoon, and in front of them a beach of pale sand running for more than two kilometres, backed by the pine woods the resort is named after. There is an eighteen-hole golf course alongside.

The real draw is what lies a few minutes to the east. Cap Fréhel is one of the great headlands of France: pink and grey cliffs dropping seventy metres into the sea, a moor of gorse and heather on top that turns gold and purple in season, a lighthouse, and seabird colonies on the offshore stacks. From the cap the GR34 runs round to Fort la Latte, the thirteenth-century castle on its own promontory above the water, which is as close to a fairy-tale fortress as Brittany gets.

Fréhel and neighbouring Pléhérel have shops, bakeries and restaurants; Erquy, a working scallop port with a fine centre and several beaches, is fifteen minutes west. Matignon and Saint-Cast are a similar distance east.

Lamballe, with its railway station on the Paris TGV line, is around thirty-five minutes inland, Saint-Brieuc about forty-five, and Saint-Malo and Dinard roughly an hour.
