About Trévou-Tréguignec
Trévou-Tréguignec sits on the Côte de Granit Rose, the stretch of north Brittany where the granite really is pink and the coast breaks up into boulders, coves and islets. The commune's great asset is the beach at Trestel — a wide sweep of firm sand in a sheltered bay, supervised in summer, with a sailing and watersports centre, a promenade and cafés behind it.
The GR34 coastal path runs the length of the commune, past Port le Goff and the little harbours and round the headlands, and it is one of the finest sections of the whole path. The water here is shallow and clean, good for swimming, paddleboarding and dinghy sailing, and the tides expose enough rock and sand for a day's pottering.
Perros-Guirec, the main resort of the coast, is a few minutes away with its marina, its shops and the famous sentier des douaniers running from Ploumanac'h through the pink granite chaos to Trégastel. Tréguier, with its cathedral and its Wednesday market, is around fifteen minutes inland, and the Sept-Îles bird reserve lies offshore, home to the largest gannet colony in France.
Lannion, with supermarkets, a hospital, a railway station and an airport, is around twenty minutes. Saint-Brieuc and the TGV to Paris are under an hour and a half, and Dinard and Brest airports are both within reach.
