Eight hundred square metres of countryside at Bains-sur-Oust, with a brand new four-bedroom house and two bathrooms on it, for €205,000 all in. A garden that size gives you a terrace, a pool, an orchard and lawn for children, with room left over.
The house is our four-bedroom design with two bathrooms, over two floors with a garage. The ground floor has a bright open-plan living and dining room opening onto the terrace and garden, a fitted kitchen, a bedroom with its own bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. Three further bedrooms and a second bathroom sit upstairs. The layout can be adapted to suit you.
Stated plainly: water and electricity are at the boundary, individual drainage is required, and all of it is surveyed and quoted as part of the works. The agency now shows €20,000 for the land where an earlier advert said €17,500, and it is an older listing, so we confirm both the current price and availability before you commit.
About Bains-sur-Oust
Bains-sur-Oust sits just north of Redon where the Oust comes down to meet the Vilaine, and it has the best stretch of river country anywhere near the town.
The Île aux Pies is here. The Oust cuts through a ridge of schist to form a small gorge, with rock faces rising straight out of clear green water — climbing routes on the cliffs, canoes and paddleboards on the river, footpaths along both banks and a swimming spot that fills up on a hot afternoon. It is the single most loved place in this part of Brittany, and it is a few minutes from the plot.
The village itself has shops, a bakery, a school and a community. Around it the land is wooded valley and small fields, with the towpath of the Nantes–Brest canal running through — flat, traffic-free cycling for as far as you want to go.
Redon is minutes away: around 9,500 residents, supermarkets, a hospital, doctors, primary schools and several lycées, a cinema, a swimming pool, sports clubs and a weekly market, with genuine year-round employment. Its abbey, founded in 832, still stands at the centre of the old town.
The station gives a direct TGV to Paris Montparnasse in about two and a quarter hours, Rennes and Nantes each around forty minutes by train, and Vannes half an hour. Both airports are within an hour by road; the Atlantic beaches around forty-five minutes.
