A 480 m² building plot in Dinard — which, like Saint-Malo across the water, is a commune where building land almost never appears. With our 150 m² house of four to five bedrooms on it, the price starts at €650,000.
The plot is advertised through a housebuilder, so three things are established in writing before anything is signed: the exact neighbourhood within the commune, the servicing, and the construction conditions. That is the first work we do for you, and on a plot at this level it matters.
About Dinard
Dinard is the other side of the Rance from Saint-Malo, and it could hardly be more different in character. Saint-Malo is granite, corsairs and weather; Dinard is villas, gardens and the nineteenth century.
It was built as a resort by British and American money from the 1850s onwards, and something like four hundred belle-époque villas still stand along the cliffs and above the beaches — turrets, verandas, balconies, painted shutters, gardens full of mimosa and palm that survive on the mildness of this coast. The Promenade du Clair de Lune runs along the front below them, lit and planted, with the striped bathing tents on the Plage de l'Écluse beyond.
There is a proper town behind the postcard: shops, schools, a market, restaurants, a casino, a golf course, an Olympic swimming pool filled with seawater, and a film festival every autumn devoted to British cinema — Hitchcock, who spent time here, has a statue on the front.
The practical point is the airport. Dinard–Pleurtuit–Saint-Malo is ten minutes from the town with seasonal flights to the UK, which is why this corner has always drawn British buyers. Saint-Malo, with its hospital, its ferry port and its TGV station reaching Paris in under three hours, is ten to fifteen minutes across the Rance barrage. Dinan is half an hour up the river; Saint-Briac, Lancieux and the Emerald Coast run west.
