A 714 m² plot in a hamlet at Saint-Just, five minutes from the Rennes–Redon road, and it comes with a 35 m² stone building that the advertisement suggests could serve as a garage. A stone outbuilding of that size on a building plot is genuinely unusual — it is a garage, a workshop, a studio or a store that you do not have to build. With a brand new four-bedroom house and two bathrooms, the total is €204,990.
The house is our four-bedroom design with two bathrooms, over two floors with a garage. Downstairs, a bright open-plan living and dining room opens onto the terrace and garden, with a fitted kitchen, a bedroom served by its own bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. Three further bedrooms and a second bathroom are upstairs. The layout can be adapted to suit you.
Three things we settle first, all stated in the advertisement. The plot is unserviced with the networks at the boundary and individual drainage required — surveyed, designed and quoted as part of the works. It is an older advert, so availability is reconfirmed. And we check with the commune what the stone building may be converted to before you count on it.
About Saint-Just
Saint-Just is a village in the south of the Ille-et-Vilaine, and it stands in one of the most remarkable landscapes in Brittany.
The moors above the village — the Landes de Cojoux — hold the largest concentration of megaliths in the region after Carnac: alignments of standing stones, dolmens, tumuli and stone rows spread across several kilometres of heath, some of them more than six thousand years old. Unlike Carnac, they are open, uncrowded and free to walk among, with the schist ridges, the gorse and the lakes below. It is an extraordinary thing to have on your doorstep.
The village itself is quiet, with basic services, and the surrounding country is heath, woodland and small fields, threaded with footpaths. The Canut valley and its old mills lie to the north, Brocéliande beyond.
Redon is around twenty minutes: a town of 9,500 with supermarkets, a hospital, doctors, several lycées, a cinema, a swimming pool and a weekly market, and a station with a direct TGV to Paris in about two and a quarter hours and trains to Rennes and Nantes in around forty minutes. Rennes, with its international airport, is about fifty minutes by road along the road the advert mentions.
