A serviced plot of 402 m² facing south-west, in a thirty-one lot development close to the village amenities at Saint-Martin-sur-Oust. Because the plot is already serviced, this is one of the quickest of our Redon-area packages to start. With a brand new two-bedroom bungalow on it, the total is €175,000.
A south-west aspect is worth more than most buyers realise. It gives the terrace and the main living room the afternoon and evening sun, which is when you actually use them.
The house is our two-bedroom bungalow: 75 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with two bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a garage can be added as an option.
About Saint-Martin-sur-Oust
Saint-Martin-sur-Oust sits on the Oust in the eastern Morbihan, in the country between Redon and La Gacilly, and it is a proper village rather than a hamlet: a school, shops, a bakery, services and a community that is there in February as well as August.
The river is the reason to be here. The Oust is part of the Nantes–Brest canal, and the towpath runs through the commune — flat, traffic-free walking and cycling for as far as you care to go, past locks and lock-keepers' cottages, and boats moving through all summer. The Île aux Pies, a few minutes upstream, is a small gorge of rock faces and clear green water where people climb, swim and paddle; it is one of the loveliest spots in inland Brittany.
La Gacilly, a few minutes away, is a village of flowers and craftsmen, home to Yves Rocher and to an outdoor photography festival each summer that turns the whole village into a gallery and draws visitors from across France.
Redon is around twenty minutes: a town of 9,500 with supermarkets, a hospital, schools and lycées, a cinema, a weekly market and a station with direct TGV to Paris in about two and a quarter hours. Rennes and Nantes are each around fifty minutes by road, Vannes about forty, and the Atlantic beaches around an hour.
