A serviced 500 m² plot in a thirty-one lot development at Saint-Martin-sur-Oust, with the school, the shops and the village services close by, and a brand new four-bedroom house with two bathrooms built on it. €203,750 all in.
For a family moving to France, a village with its own school matters more than almost anything else on a listing, and this one has one within reach on foot.
The house is our four-bedroom design with two bathrooms, over two floors with a garage. The ground floor has a bright open-plan living and dining room opening onto the terrace and garden, a fitted kitchen, a bedroom served by its own bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room — a complete suite downstairs for guests, grandparents or anyone who would rather avoid stairs. Three further bedrooms and a second bathroom sit upstairs. The layout can be adapted to suit you.
This is a builder-advertised plot, so we obtain the total agency fees and the construction conditions in writing before anything is signed.
About Saint-Martin-sur-Oust for a family
Saint-Martin-sur-Oust is a working village on the Oust in the eastern Morbihan, with a school, shops, a bakery and services, roughly twenty minutes north of Redon.
The river runs through the commune as part of the Nantes–Brest canal, and the towpath is the best thing about growing up here: flat, traffic-free and endless, past locks and lock-keepers' cottages, with boats moving all summer. The Île aux Pies, minutes upstream, is a small gorge of rock faces and clear green water — climbing, canoeing, swimming and picnicking, and one of the loveliest places in inland Brittany.
La Gacilly is a few minutes away: a village of flowers and craftsmen, home to Yves Rocher, and host to an outdoor photography festival every summer that hangs enormous prints along its walls and gardens. North lies Brocéliande, the Arthurian forest; east, the megaliths at Saint-Just.
Redon, twenty minutes south, carries the weight for anything larger: a hospital, supermarkets, several lycées, a cinema, a swimming pool, sports clubs and a weekly market. Its station runs a direct TGV to Paris in about two and a quarter hours, and trains to Rennes and Nantes in around forty minutes each. Vannes and the Gulf of Morbihan are about forty minutes by road, and the Atlantic beaches around an hour.
