The house is our 150 m² design of four to five bedrooms, with two bathrooms and a garage. The plot requires servicing, which is surveyed and quoted as part of the works, and it is advertised through a notary with the negotiation fees included in the price shown.
About Saint-Coulomb
Saint-Coulomb is the commune between Saint-Malo and Cancale, and it has the beaches that people from both towns drive out to.
Les Chevrets is the famous one: a double crescent of sand either side of the Pointe du Meinga, backed by dunes and a headland you can walk round at low water, with the Île Besnard beyond. Le Guesclin is the other — a long beach with a small rocky island a hundred metres offshore carrying a fort, which the singer Léo Ferré owned and lived in for years. At low tide you can walk out to it.
Between the beaches the coast is dunes, low cliffs and marsh, with the GR34 running the whole way. Inland the commune is farmland, with a village centre that has a bakery, shops, a school and a market, and the malouinières — the granite country houses of the Saint-Malo shipowners — scattered through the fields.
This is a genuinely good compromise: a real village with services, five to ten minutes from the beaches, ten minutes from the walled city and ten from the oyster beds at Cancale.
Saint-Malo has the hospital, the secondary schools, the supermarkets, the ferry port to Portsmouth, Poole and Jersey, and the TGV station with Paris in under three hours. Mont-Saint-Michel is forty-five minutes; Dinard airport half an hour; Rennes an hour.
