The most useful thing about this plot is where it sits. 485 m² in a quiet corner of the bourg of Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, close enough to walk to the bakery, the shops and the restaurants, and 1.5 km from the beaches — near enough for the sea to be part of ordinary life rather than a drive. The parcel carries a generous building allowance, and the setting is calm.

The house is our four-bedroom villa: 115 m² over two floors with an integrated garage. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining room opens to the terrace and garden, with a fitted kitchen, a ground-floor double bedroom served by its own bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. Upstairs there are three more bedrooms, a family bathroom and a second WC. The layout can be adapted to suit you.

About Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys

Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys is a village of around 2,000 residents on the ocean side of the Presqu'île de Rhuys, the peninsula that closes the southern edge of the Golfe du Morbihan. The Atlantic is on one side, the sheltered waters of the gulf on the other, and the whole peninsula is a few kilometres wide — you are never far from either.

The village grew up around its abbey, founded by Saint Gildas in the sixth century and rebuilt many times since; the church keeps Romanesque stonework from the eleventh century, and Pierre Abélard was abbot here in the 1120s. The bourg around it is a proper village rather than a resort: a bakery, shops, bars and restaurants, a medical practice and a primary school, busy in July and August but lived in all year.

The beaches are a short walk or a two-minute drive, with the GR34 coastal path running the length of the commune's shoreline past coves, low cliffs and long stretches of sand. Port du Crouesty, one of Brittany's largest marinas, is a few minutes west at Arzon, and Port-Navalo sits at the very tip of the peninsula looking across the mouth of the gulf.

Sarzeau, with supermarkets, secondary schooling and a weekly market, is around 8 km away. Vannes is roughly forty minutes, with its walled old town, its hospitals and a TGV service reaching Paris in about two and a half hours. Nantes airport is around an hour and a half by road.
