This is the lowest-priced package anywhere on our site, and it is a three-bedroom house: €173,072 for a 512 m² plot in the Fontenay development and a brand new three-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage built on it.
The house is our three-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage: 85 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with three bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC, a utility room and the garage built in. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a second bathroom is possible.
Water, electricity and fibre are at the boundary — fibre matters more than people expect if anyone in the house works remotely — and an individual sewage treatment system is required, which is designed and installed as part of the build.
Two things we will confirm for you before anything is signed. The land is advertised through a housebuilder, so the conditions of purchase need checking. And the land price itself is remarkably low even for this part of the Manche, so we verify it is correct and current rather than taking the advertisement at face value. If it holds, this is the best-value three-bedroom package in our whole portfolio.
About Romagny-Fontenay
Romagny Fontenay is a commune in the south of the Manche, in the heart of the Norman bocage, at the point where three departments — the Manche, the Orne and the Mayenne — very nearly meet.
This is the Normandy that British buyers have loved for generations: a deep green patchwork of hedgerows, orchards, grazing and small woods, cut by sunken lanes and streams, with grey stone farms and cider presses. It is genuinely rural without being remote.
Mortain is a few minutes away, with its supermarkets, school, doctors and market, and with the two waterfalls and the twelfth-century Abbaye Blanche that make it one of the most striking small towns in the department. The Grande Cascade drops twenty-five metres through a wooded gorge within walking distance of the centre.
Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët is around fifteen minutes for the larger shops and the weekly market. Avranches and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel are roughly half an hour, the Mont itself about forty minutes, Rennes with its airport and TGV around an hour, and Saint-Malo and its ferries an hour and a quarter.
