Romagny Fontenay is a friendly commune in the Manche, sitting in the heart of the Norman bocage where three departments — the Manche, the Orne, and the Mayenne — almost meet. This is the Normandy that British buyers have cherished for generations: a deeply green patchwork of hedgerows, orchards, grazing cattle, and granite farmhouses, with hills rising to give long views in every direction. The village has its own school and services and a genuine year-round community.
Just 5 km away is Mortain-Bocage, one of southern Normandy's most striking small towns, built along a granite ridge above a wooded gorge and home to the highest waterfalls in western France. Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, with one of the biggest weekly markets in the region, supermarkets, schools, and medical services, is around 15 km away, and the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Domfront lies about 20 km off in the neighbouring Orne.
