This is the most affordable way into the Saint-Malo and Dinard area that we have: a serviced 335 m² development plot at Le Petit Cartier, around eight hundred metres from the centre of Pleurtuit, with our 150 m² four to five bedroom house on it from €345,000.
Put that next to the figures a few kilometres away — €650,000 in Dinard, €985,000 at Rothéneuf — and the argument for building slightly inland makes itself. You are ten minutes from Dinard, fifteen from Saint-Malo, five from the airport, and you have a brand new house with a fixed price, ten-year cover and a DPE A rating rather than an old one that needs everything doing.
The plot being serviced means the connections are in and the build can begin without waiting.
About Pleurtuit
Pleurtuit is the town behind Dinard, and it is where a lot of people who work on this coast actually live. Around six thousand residents, a proper centre with supermarkets, bakeries, a pharmacy, doctors, primary and secondary schooling, sports clubs and a weekly market — the everyday things that a resort village cannot offer.
Its position is the point. Dinard and the beaches are ten minutes north. The Rance estuary is on the eastern edge of the commune, with the barrage and the crossing to Saint-Malo. And the Dinard–Pleurtuit–Saint-Malo airport is within the commune itself, with seasonal flights to the UK — which for anyone keeping family ties at home is worth a great deal.
The countryside around is the Rance valley: wooded banks, tidal creeks, moorings, the GR34 along the shore and the old tide mills. Le Minihic and Saint-Suliac are minutes away; Dinan and its ramparts twenty-five minutes up the river.
Saint-Malo is fifteen minutes across the barrage, with the hospital, the walled city, the ferry port to Portsmouth, Poole and Jersey, and the TGV station reaching Paris in under three hours.
