A serviced 932 m² plot with free choice of builder, carrying a brand new four-bedroom house with two bathrooms, for €200,996 all in. Because the plot is already surveyed and serviced, this is one of the quickest of our Normandy packages to get moving.
The house is our four-bedroom design with two bathrooms, over two floors with a garage. Downstairs there is a bright open-plan living and dining room opening onto the terrace and garden, a fitted kitchen, a bedroom with its own bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. Three more bedrooms and a second bathroom sit upstairs. The layout can be adapted to suit you, and on a plot this size there is room for a pool and a proper garden.
The advertisement states the plot as serviced; we confirm exactly what connection work remains before you commit, and anything outstanding is quoted before you sign rather than after.
About Mortain-Bocage for a family
Mortain is built around water and rock, which makes it an unusually good place to be a child.
The Grande Cascade drops twenty-five metres through a wooded gorge a few minutes' walk from the centre of town, with the Petite Cascade downstream and footpaths threading the whole gorge. There are rocks to scramble, pools to peer into and a ridge above with a view that reaches Mont-Saint-Michel on a clear day. The Abbaye Blanche, twelfth-century and Cistercian, sits above the falls with its cloister largely intact.
For ordinary life the town has a primary school and a collège, supermarkets, doctors, a pharmacy, a library, sports facilities and a weekly market. Sourdeval, ten minutes away, adds a cinema and more shops; Vire and Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët are each around twenty minutes for a fuller range and secondary schooling.
The country around is walking, cycling and fishing country, with the Sée and Sélune valleys either side and greenways along the old railway lines. The Ange Michel leisure park is a short drive. The Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and its beaches are around half an hour, and the Mont itself about forty minutes.
Caen and its ferry terminal are roughly an hour, Saint-Malo an hour and a quarter, and Rennes with its airport and TGV a little over an hour.
