A quarter of an acre near the village at Le Fresne-Poret, with a brand new three-bedroom bungalow and integrated garage on it, for €185,000 all in. For three bedrooms, a garage and a thousand square metres of Normandy, that is a hard figure to beat.
The house is our three-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage: 85 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with three bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC, a utility room and the garage built in. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a second bathroom is possible. A plot this size takes a pool, an orchard or a workshop comfortably.
The plot is advertised as unserviced, so the connections are surveyed and quoted as part of the works.
About Le Fresne-Poret
Le Fresne-Poret sits high in the south-eastern corner of the Manche, on the granite ridge of the Mortainais where the department meets the Orne and the Calvados. This is the high bocage — the part of Normandy that surprises people who expect it to be flat.
The land here rolls and rises, the hedgerows are thick and old, and the views run for miles on a clear day. The River Sée has its source a few kilometres away and runs west from here down to the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, and its valley is one of the best salmon and trout rivers in Normandy. Walking and cycling routes thread the whole area, including greenways along the old railway lines.
Sourdeval, with two supermarkets, banks, a school, doctors, a dentist, a cinema and several restaurants, is a short drive. Mortain, with its two waterfalls and its twelfth-century Abbaye Blanche, is around fifteen minutes, and Vire is a similar distance north.
Avranches and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel are around forty minutes, the Mont itself roughly three quarters of an hour, Caen and its ferry terminal about an hour, and Saint-Malo an hour and a half.
