Nine hundred and fifty square metres of garden at Grandparigny, with a brand new two-bedroom bungalow built on it, for €178,000 all in. For anyone who wants real space around them without taking on land they cannot manage, this is close to the ideal size.
The house is our two-bedroom bungalow: 75 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with two bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a garage can be added as an option. There is comfortable room here for a terrace, a pool and mature planting.
Water and electricity run nearby, and the connections are surveyed and quoted as part of the works.
About Grandparigny
Grandparigny is a small commune in the south of the Manche, formed from several neighbouring villages and sitting in the rolling bocage just north of Mortain. This is quiet, working countryside — dairy farms, orchards, hedgerows and lanes — with the everyday advantage of being only a couple of minutes from a town.
Mortain is right there, with its supermarkets, school, doctors, pharmacy, restaurants and market, and with the two waterfalls and the twelfth-century Abbaye Blanche that make it one of the most striking small towns in Normandy. The Grande Cascade drops twenty-five metres through a wooded gorge within walking distance of the centre.
The country around is superb for walking and cycling, with waymarked paths through the bocage and disused railway lines converted into traffic-free greenways. The Sée and the Sélune are good trout and salmon rivers, and the Lac de la Dathée and the Vire valley are within easy reach.
Vire is around twenty-five minutes, Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët about twenty, and Avranches and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel roughly half an hour. Caen and its ferry terminal at Ouistreham are about an hour, Saint-Malo an hour and a quarter, and Rennes with its airport and TGV to Paris a little over an hour.
