A 616 m² plot with views over the surrounding countryside at Saint-Valérien, and a brand new two-bedroom bungalow on it for €175,240 all in.
An outlook is the one thing you cannot add to a house afterwards. On a plot with a view, the orientation and the placing of the main windows and the terrace are worth spending time on, and all of that is yours to decide.
The house is our two-bedroom bungalow: 75 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with two bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a garage can be added as an option.

About Saint-Valérien
Saint-Valérien is a friendly, growing commune in the canton of La Châtaigneraie, sitting exactly where the plaine meets the bocage — two of the Vendée's most distinctive landscapes, and the reason the views from here are worth having.
To the south and west the land opens out into the plaine: wide arable country, long horizons and big skies. To the north and east it closes into the bocage: hedgerows, small fields, oak copses and sunken lanes. The little River Smagne runs through the commune, and the countryside around is a classic Vendée patchwork of meadows, hedges and woodland.
The village has a school and a community that is growing rather than shrinking — which in rural France is a good deal rarer than it sounds and says something about the place.
La Châtaigneraie is a few minutes away for supermarkets, doctors, a pharmacy, restaurants and a weekly market. Fontenay-le-Comte, the Renaissance town that was once the capital of the Bas-Poitou, is around twenty-five minutes, with the great forest of Mervent-Vouvant behind it.
The Marais Poitevin is around forty minutes south, Puy du Fou about forty minutes north-east, La Roche-sur-Yon forty-five minutes west, Niort and its TGV to Paris under an hour, and the Atlantic beaches about an hour and a quarter.
