More than a thousand square metres in a natural setting, seven hundred metres from the beach at La Passagère, inside the commune of Saint-Malo. Land of this size anywhere in the town is rare; land of this size in a green setting by the Rance is rarer.
The house is our 150 m² design of four to five bedrooms, with two bathrooms and a garage. On a plot like this it can be sited for the aspect and the outlook, with room for a pool, mature planting and a proper garden.
The plot is advertised as partially serviced, so the remaining connections are surveyed and quoted as part of the works.
About Quelmer and the Rance
Quelmer is Saint-Malo's other coast, and most visitors never find it. While the northern side of the town faces the open Channel and the tides, the southern edge runs along the Rance estuary — sheltered water, wooded banks, small anchorages and mudflats full of birds.
La Passagère is the old ferry crossing point, where boats took people over the estuary before the barrage was built. The beach there is a river beach rather than a sea one: calm, warm at high water, and a world away from the surf on the Sillon a few kilometres north. The GR34 runs along the bank, past the Moulin du Beauchet and the old tide mills, and the whole valley up to Dinan is one of the most beautiful stretches of inland water in Brittany.
The Rance barrage, a couple of minutes south, was the first tidal power station of its scale in the world when it opened in 1966 and still generates. Crossing it puts you in Dinard in ten minutes, with its airport, its belle-époque villas and its striped bathing tents.
The centre of Saint-Malo is ten minutes north: the walled city, the hospital, the schools, the market, the ferry port and the TGV station with Paris in under three hours.
