About Kergrist
Kergrist is a small commune in central Morbihan, a few minutes from Noyal-Pontivy and about a quarter of an hour from Pontivy itself. It sits in the farmland between the Blavet and the Oust, an unshowy, genuinely rural part of Brittany where the villages still have their schools and their bakeries.
The appeal is the position. Pontivy, fifteen minutes away, gives you a hospital, supermarkets, a high street, a Monday market, cinemas, colleges and lycées — everything a family or a retired couple actually needs, all year round. Josselin and its château are twenty-five minutes east, Loudéac about the same to the north, and the Nantes–Brest canal at Rohan is ten minutes away with its towpath running for miles in both directions.
Further out, Vannes and the Gulf of Morbihan are an hour, Lorient and the south coast about the same, the north coast at Saint-Brieuc around fifty minutes, and Rennes an hour and a quarter. Being in the middle of Brittany means nothing is ever more than an easy drive.
