Flat and already boxed is about as straightforward as building land gets: the groundwork is simple, the garden is usable end to end, and two of the connections are waiting at the plot.
The house is our three-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage: 85 m², everything on one level. A bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens onto the terrace and garden, with three bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC, a utility room and the garage built in. The layout can be adapted to your wishes and a second bathroom is possible. On 723 m² there is room for a terrace, a pool and proper planting.
About Saint-Maurice-des-Noues
Saint-Maurice-des-Noues is a small commune in the south of the Vendée, on the edge of the forest of Mervent-Vouvant — and that forest is the reason to be here.
Five thousand hectares of oak and beech spread over a gorge cut by the Mère and the Vendée, the Mervent forest is the largest in the department and the most surprising thing in it. There are lakes and a dam, cliffs used by climbers, kayaking on the water, marked walking and cycling trails through the whole massif, a zoo, and the cave where the hermit Pierre de Font-Boisseau lived in the seventeenth century.
Vouvant, just up the road, is one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France: walled, on a spur above the river, with the Tour Mélusine and a Romanesque church portal among the finest in Poitou.
The village itself keeps a church, a bakery and a school, and the bocage around is quiet and green. La Châtaigneraie is around ten minutes for supermarkets, doctors and the weekly market.
Fontenay-le-Comte, a Ville d'Art et d'Histoire with a Renaissance quarter and a full range of services, is around twenty minutes. The Marais Poitevin is half an hour south, Niort and its TGV to Paris around forty-five minutes, La Roche-sur-Yon fifty, and the Atlantic beaches roughly an hour and a quarter.
