Here is a brand new, energy-efficient 3-bedroom bungalow with integrated garage in the welcoming market town of Sourdeval, set in the beautiful green countryside of southern Normandy. Single-storey, easy to run, and ready to move straight into, it makes a wonderful family home, a comfortable place to retire, or a first step into French life — with everyday amenities on the doorstep and Mont-Saint-Michel within easy reach.
The home centres on a bright, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that opens onto the garden. Three comfortable bedrooms, a modern bathroom, a separate WC and a utility room complete the layout, along with the integrated garage as standard. The layout can be adapted to your wishes, and there is the option of a second bathroom.
About Sourdeval
Sourdeval is a friendly town of around 3,000 residents in the Manche, sitting on the granite hills where the River Sée has its source. It has a genuinely useful range of services for a town its size — two supermarkets, several bars, cafés and restaurants, banks, a cinema, a school, doctors, and a dentist — so daily life works without a long drive for every errand.
This is the heart of the Norman bocage: a deep green patchwork of hedgerows, small fields, orchards and wooded river valleys, threaded with quiet lanes. The valley of the Sée is one of the prettiest in the department and one of the best salmon and trout rivers in Normandy, with walking and fishing along much of its length. The old railway line through the town has been turned into a voie verte for walkers and cyclists.
Vire, with its wider range of shops and its railway station, is about fifteen minutes away, and Mortain, known for its waterfalls and its abbey, around ten. Avranches and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel are within easy reach, and the Mont itself is under an hour. Saint-Malo and its ferry port are around an hour and a half, and Caen, with its ferry terminal at Ouistreham and its airport, is roughly an hour.
